Green Lockers
2008
Estelle, Kaylyn, Paulina and Marie Kenza are shedding their childhood skin and stepping into womanhood. Their coming of age implies physical, sexual, emotional, social and psychological transition. The harsh light and impersonal space is metaphoric of the lonely shift between 'girl' and 'woman'. Here bodies are exposed, insecurities confronted, and mirrors faced. Perhaps this is a self - portrait, not only of the complexity of my teenage self, but also of a deep nostalgia for my own childhood.
